Working With Us

Want to work with us? Thanks! We’re blushing.

Here’s what you need to know about the type of projects we take on, and the people we work with. It’s not that we don’t want to help everyone, it’s simply that we’re interested in long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients, and we want to make sure that you have a positive experience when working with us.

First, If you’re on a very tight budget or are in a hurry, we’re not the right fit for you. Our best work takes time and energy, and we put a lot of both into what we do. We take on projects where we can expect a great relationship with you and an end result we’ll all love.

Ask yourself these questions:

Are you energetic, easygoing and do you like to laugh?

Our clients are fun people who like to enjoy the process of working on their business. If we meet in person for training or workshops we usually do so in funky coffee shops or even in a pub for a pint. We like to chat, have a laugh, and hear about what gets you going.

Are you serious about your business and really love your job?

We thrive on your enthusiasm for your business, so share your passion with us. Marketing is better when it’s authentic. Your website, blog, emails and social media will only really resonate with your customers if you love what you do and can show it.

Do you manage an independent company with one or a few locations, or a nonprofit?

Corporate doesn’t really float our boat, we want to work directly with the person(s) who are really going to benefit from what we do. We work from home most of the time – if your project requires 40 hours a week of on-site work, we’re not a good fit.

Is your business or organization is interesting? Do you know what your Unique Selling Point is?

You’re trying new and exciting ways of doing business, and growing an organization that makes a difference. In order to effectively market your business online through blogging, email and social media, you’ll need to have lots to say about your industry in order to keep coming up with fresh ideas for content, and it should be interesting to your customers and prospects.

Is there one point of contact within your organization that we can work directly with?

Design by committee doesn’t work. Please be prepared to appoint one person to liaise between ourselves and your team. This person coordinates the decision making and approvals, gets us content, and is trained on how to use your site and communicate with us. Waiting for 30 team members to agree on a shade of blue is a dizzying exercise, trust us!

Are you flexible and open to learning about computers and the internet?

We don’t expect you to be a computer genius, so don’t worry! We do hope that you are open to learning a few things though. We rarely communicate by phone. Our communications are online using our client area, Skype video chat, and email. These are easy to use, but may be a little different method than you’re used to, if you typically pick up the phone for every issue. In order to effectively use the internet for marketing, you’ll need to learn a few new skills, too. We’ll teach you what you need to know, but you’ll need to be willing to learn if you want to be successful.

Do you have a good idea of what you want?

Think about where your business is headed, and what is working right now. You should also consider what isn’t working, and what your barriers to growth are. Picture where you want your business to be in 5 years, and start figuring out how can your online strategy can move you towards that.

Before you contact us, you should also have a good idea of how your website can fulfill your needs. If it’s a redesign of a current site, what are the problems with the site you have now? Please take some time to think about what you’re looking for in regards to design (look & feel – what other sites do you like and how do you want to present your business?) and functionality (online store, blog, community features etc.)

Do you have a budget for marketing work?

We can work with small budgets, but micro budgets, not so much. The work we do for you will save you time and earn you money for the life of your business, so you’ll need to spend a little to make great things happen.  Please visit our pricing page or our package options page to run some numbers before you contact us. In general, if you have $200 per month to dedicate to your online presence, you can afford to get started.
